On Wednesday, August 11, VOYCE leaders Stephanie M. and Hennessy W. traveled downtown to be interviewed by George Blaise for WCIU's morning show, "26 N. Halsted." Here's what Stephanie wrote about the experience:
Being on television was not as bad as I thought it would be. On August 11, 2010, Hennessy Williams from KOCO (Kenwood Oakland Community Organization) and me, Stephanie Mayo from APNC (Albany Park Neighborhood Council), went to Channel 26’s station to be interviewed by George Blaise about VOYCE since his show, 26 N. Halsted, had a week dedicated to speaking about youth. Although the interview was shorter than we thought it would be, we were still able to say our message: Youth should be the ones making decisions that affect their everyday life because youth are the ones who are being affected by them the most.
